Michael Young Baseball Good Player 2011

Born: 1976/10/19
Age: 34
Height: 6-1
Weight: 200
Place of birth: Covina, CA
Bats/Throws: R / R
Seasons: 11
Drafted by: the Toronto Blue Jays in 1997 (5th round)

Michael Brian Young was born on October 19, 1976 in Covina, California. His mom Anna called him B as a boy  and his dad Fred called him Mikey. Michael’s parents were both U.S.-born, but his mother’s family was from Mexico. English was spoken in the Young home, although Michael picked up Spanish over the years. Today, he can converse with his Latino teammates in the majors.

Baseball was Michael’s favorite sport as a child. From the age of four, he planned to become a pro player. The talent was there and so was the teaching. Fred would talk technique and strategy as long as his son would listen.

A construction worker who put in a day's labor for a decent wage, Fred never made a big deal about what he did for a living. Michael admired his father, and over the years, he went from mischief-maker to a kid with an incredible work ethic. On the diamond, Michael was one of those players who loved practice as much as the games, and he was always in motion, always hustling. That impressed youth coach Garth Daniels, who spent extra time tutoring Michael on the fine points of hitting. Daniels did a great deal to boost Michael’s confidence overall.

Svetlana Kuznetsova Tennis player Latest News US Open 2011

Famous female tennis player Svetlana Kuznetsova is a Russian born tennis professional who is currently ranked third in Women’s Tennis. She has won two tennis Grand Slam singles titles during her career and has been runner up in other Grand Slam finals. She is a reigning French Open champion and she also won the US Open title in 2004. Kuznetsova was a runner up in the French Open in 2004 and Us Open in 2007. She has born to a coach father who has coached five world and Olympic cycling champions. Kuznetsova could not keep up with her winning streak in year 2008 where she reached only two finals. She kept losing to seeded players and ended as World No. 8 at the year end which made her the only women tennis player to be among top ten best female tennis players with no title. The performance of Russian tennis player Kuznetsova improved in year 2009 when her ranking improved to 3 but she could not retain this ranking and fell to World No. 27 in year 2010 which is her lowest career ranking.

With two Grand Slam singles titles already on her resume, Svetlana Kuznetsova, 26, still believes there is more for her to accomplish in tennis. She might be under the radar and playing on the outside courts as the No. 15 seed, but the 2004 U.S. Open champ and 2009 French Open champ is quietly working her way through the tournament. She beat Elena Baltacha of Great Britain 6-4, 6-3, on Thursday to move into the third round and will next face Akgul Amanmuradova of Uzbekistan. Kuznetsova spoke to espnW after the win over Baltacha.

Francesco Totti Football Player 2011 Biography and Pictures

Francesco Totti (born September 27, 1976 in Rome) is an Italian football player, who currently plays for A.S. Roma in Serie A and for the Italian national team, who are the current world champions after winning the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

Francesco Totti’s position is that of a striker or an attacking midfielder, though he’s best known for playing as the “trequartista”, a compromise between the two positions where the player acts as a link between midfield and attack. He is also Roma’s first choice to take free kicks, having scored a number of goals from dead-ball situations.

Totti is widely recognised as the symbol of Roma, having never left the team despite the possibility of playing in stronger and richer clubs, and being the number one goalscorer in the club’s history.

Totti was born and raised in Rome, in the Porta Metronia city neighborhood. His parents are Enzo and Fiorella Totti. Unlike other children his age who preferred to watch cartoons, Totti was always more interested in watching football matches instead. Totti constantly played football with older boys. His mother refused a big deal for her son from A.C. Milan while waiting for a deal from his favourite club A.S. Roma. His mother intended to never let her son step foot out of the “Eternal City”. Totti finally joined the A.S. Roma junior team in 1989.

Totti is married to Ilary Blasi, a former model, who currently works as commentator and host on several RAI TV programmes. The couple had their first baby, named Cristian, on November 6, 2005.

Totti also runs a football school, named Number Ten, and owns a motorcycle racing team called “Totti Top Sport”.

His best friend is his brother, Riccardo. However, Totti always says that his brother was the better player when they were kids, but he was unlucky on his way. Riccardo now is Totti’s agent.

He also had a bad relationship with his previous coach Fabio Capello, who is currently coach of Real Madrid. Totti accused Capello of being a traitor for leaving Roma suddenly without a warning, and left the Roman team in a very bad shape which had them almost relegated to the second division in 2004-2005 season. This rift started on Capello’s last days with Roma: according to Totti, his behaviour to most of the players changed, and once advised the younger players not take Totti as their role model player, but to take Brazilian Emerson as an idol for his hard work. Several months later, Capello, Emerson and Frenchman Jonathan Zebina all left AS Roma for rivals Juventus suddenly.
